Basketball Australia is the governing and controlling body for the sport of basketball in Australia.

The members of Basketball Australia are the state/territory basketball associations and the member clubs of the National Basketball League and Women's National Basketball League. Basketball Australia runs the national leagues, national teams and national junior championships.

Basketball Australia oversees 15 Australian National Teams and a total of 34 medals have been won at official international competition events - these include Olympic and Paralympic Games plus World Championships. Currently Australia is ranked 3rd in the world in basketball success internationally by FIBA.

Basketball Australia also has a number of national properties in addition to the NBL and WNBL, including Aussie Hoops, a program for primary school children to begin, enjoy and play basketball.
