“It’s an incredibly exciting time for basketball in Australia, with such strong talent represented at an NBA level, coupled with thriving participation numbers at a grassroots level. Spalding is a proud key stakeholder of the game and invests at all levels from NBA and Basketball Australia to through to local associations. We want to see the game prosper and grow, and via our strategic partnership commitment to Basketball NSW, we can ensure that the game continues to flourish,”

Spalding Managing Director Chris Lambert

Basketball NSW is excited to sign a 3-year agreement with Spalding. Spalding has clearly shown it is aligned to BNSW'S goal through its strategic plan to grow basketball in NSW. Our aim is to give every child the opportunity to experience our amazing sport. In every little kid's heart, there is a desire to be the next Ben Simmons or Matthew Dellavedova.

Through our partnership, we believe we can provide the platform for little far-fetched dreams to become big dreams all across NSW. We wanted to create something unique to NSW and make kids connected with our State and our sport and our league, the Waratah League. The customised ball which we have developed in partnership with Spalding is the first step on that journey.  Our desire is to "take back the streets" and keep our kid's active playing basketball, wherever they would like to play at school, in the driveway or the park or inside a basketball stadium. An active mind is a healthy mind and basketball with its low barriers to entry is truly, "Everyone's game".

Every year of the partnership we will distribute thousands of balls across the state for kids to play with.  That in itself is an enormous step forward for kids playing at the grassroots level and want to play and shoot hoops wherever they are.  We would like to Thank Spalding for sharing our vision and look forward to the next 3-year partnership.
