NBL HoopsFest is here!
Western Australia is set to deliver the ultimate fusion of basketball, music, culture, entertainment and style at HoopsFest – a celebration like no other.
A first of its kind, the multi-day extravaganza promises to be an unforgettable festival featuring all NBL and WNBL teams together in the same place at the same time for Round One of the Hungry Jack’s NBL Season, a Cygnett WNBL Tournament, the Foot Locker U18 Australian Club Championships, an interactive fan zone, the world famous Sneakerland exhibition, as well as music, food and loads of other entertainment.
To celebrate, Spalding have created a unique game ball that will be used throughout the week. The panels are designed to incorporate the three leagues represented, as a culmination of the celebration of basketball that the event will be.
Spalding will also release a takedown range of the design, giving fans the opportunity to collect the first ever HoopFest ball in both rubber material, as well as the official game ball version, made with our TF 1000 Legacy technology. The game ball can be found in sizes 6 and 7 and the rubber ball also has size 5, meaning there is a ball for any level of baller. The range can be found here.
Moving to the action on court, and basketball purists will have plenty to sink their teeth into. With HBF Stadium hosting U18s games every day, fans have the chance to catch the next lot of Australian superstars. After coming off a record season last season, fans will have the opportunity to see every WNBL team as they begin pre-season and start to gear up for a big season ahead. After a big off season that saw her shine in the green and gold, Isobel Borlaise will be one of many Aussie superstars taking to the court in Perth.
The NBL season kicks off in Perth with a big opening round of action. Kicking off on Thursday, Melbourne United take on the Tasmanian JackJumpers in a finals rematch that will see United hungry for a small part of revenge. Perth take on SEM Phoenix to wrap up a big Friday of action, in what will be a packed RAC Arena. Saturday will host an NBL double header with the Breakers taking on the Bullets followed by Cairns playing the Hawks. The round is wrapped up on Sunday with Adelaide playing Sydney.
Along with the action on court, fans will have the opportunity to see the best of basketball culture, with Sneakerland, as well as a interactive live site, that will include a stage showing continuous hoops action, as well as a court which will showcase 3x3 action, as well as 3-point competitions and dunk contests.
Bring on the action!
