For the first time, the Boomers have taken home the Bronze medal.
This commemorative ball celebrates the first-ever medal in Australia’s Basketball history. In a 14-point victory, the Boomers took out the win against Slovenia. Australia was the first to score, and put together strong and defensive plays, preventing Slovenia from scoring early. By half time, the scores were 53-45. With a medal on the line, the action continued at both ends for the entire game.
The bronze was in sight for the Boomers, they answered every point that Slovenia added to their tally. Patty Mills was unstoppable with 42 points, followed by 16 points from Joe Ingles and Jock Landle, 12 from Dante Exum and Matisse Thybulle basketed 11.
